Understand what the proposed system includes

Polyaspartic describes a coating technology, but it does not tell you every layer included in a floor. Manufacturer examples include polyaspartic products used as primers, binders or sealers. Ask for a straightforward explanation of the layers proposed for your project and the role of each one.

Some polyaspartic products are formulated for fast curing and UV resistance. These characteristics are product specific, so they should be confirmed for the quoted system. Avoid treating a general material description as a promise about colour stability, installation duration or long-term performance on every floor.

Compare practical priorities

Start with what would make the finished garage useful to you. Perhaps the garage is the main household entrance, or perhaps you need to coordinate with a storage installation. Explain these constraints alongside the colour and decorative appearance you want. A shorter planned interruption can matter, but it needs to be realistic for the whole job.

When comparing epoxy and polyaspartic estimates, check that both include equivalent floor preparation and clearly describe the finish. Also compare instructions for future cleaning and the expected access restrictions. Two estimates with different preparation or different layers are not directly comparable simply because they cover the same floor area.

Preparation still sets the scope

A proposed fast-curing finish does not remove the need to assess existing concrete. Tell SMA about old paint, oil marks, cracks and any recurring damp areas. Include photographs of the garage entrance and perimeter, where a close view may show details that a single wide photograph misses.

Discuss the working conditions and timing before committing to a moving or storage schedule. Installation time and return to vehicle use are separate questions. Ask which dates are provisional and when the final return-to-use instructions will be confirmed.

• Identify direct sunlight, existing coatings and known water issues.
• Allow for preparation and repairs in the project timetable.
• Keep alternative vehicle parking available until the floor is released for use.

Confirm the details before booking

Review the intended colour, texture, edges and transitions in the written scope. If a decorative flake appearance is desired, ask how it fits into the proposed system. Include the threshold to the driveway and the house entrance in that conversation. Clear decisions about these details help avoid last-minute changes when the garage has already been emptied.
